Based in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama – Abeona helps single women, couples nearing or in retirement, and young professional families pursue their long-term goals and achieve financial success and wellness. We work with clients in the Southeast and throughout the country, focusing on investment management, retirement, and financial planning.
Abeona opened its doors in early 2020 with the goal of providing inclusive and empowering financial advice. As an educator-turned-financial advisor, Mary Meadows Livingston, CFA, CFP®, saw the need for a wealth management company that not only provided high-quality, research-based investment advice in the client’s best interest, but also one that was approachable.
Our goal is to provide objective guidance and to serve as a resource and partner to our clients. We believe that actions speak louder than words, and that when it comes to our clients, exemplary service and hands-on support are the highest priority.
In Roman mythology, Abeona is the goddess of the outward journey. Regardless of where you begin, we look forward to walking alongside you in your financial journey.
Mary Meadows brings a diverse background to her work as a financial advisor having spent the first five years of her career as an early childhood special educator at The Bell Center for Early Intervention. During that time, Mary Meadows recognized that financial wellness has an impact on more than your bank balance. Her passion to empower directed her to pivot to a career in finance. She joined the team at Porter, White & Company, an investment banking and investment management firm serving both individual and institutional clients, and worked there from 2011 to 2020.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a CFA® Charterholder, she has both the quantitative background to analyze markets and investments and the ability to explain difficult concepts. Her B.A. in Psychology and Master of Teaching from the University of Virginia complement the financial background and balances the depth of financial knowledge with the empathy and understanding of the human spirit.
Personal relationships and trust are key to a successful financial plan, and Mary Meadows enjoys working with a diverse set of clients who have unique needs and stories. She is a native of Tupelo, Mississippi and a long-time resident of Birmingham who is committed to the city and enjoys serving the community through various organizations and leadership roles. When not at work, Mary Meadows can usually be found at a concert, the library, on a trail hiking, or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen.
Abeona Wealth values community and understands that no one individual can make an impact without the dedication to the people it serves. Abeona’s team has served and actively participates in the following communities of Birmingham.
